When your clients say they want an adventure, to experience a new culture, to embark on a food-filled journey, to see something new, where do you recommend? Vietnam offers your clients the chance to do all of this and more. Through exploring the country’s rich history, diverse flavors, and natural wonders, your clients will have an experience beyond their wildest dreams.
So Much to See
Each region and city in Vietnam offer unique experiences of culture, nature, and history. In Hanoi, the country’s capital city, the Temple of Literature and the French Quarter’s architecture take visitors back to the era of French rule here from 1887 until 1954.
For those traveling further south, Hoi An blends the indigenous and foreign cultures unlike anywhere else on Earth. Visitors can explore the neighborhood of Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site that showcases the traditional architecture and function of a Southeast Asia trading port that includes several famous sites like the Japanese Covered Bridge and Vietnamese tub houses. Beyond these historic sites, boutiques, textiles, and tea warehouses entice shoppers and gourmet restaurants and street food stalls beckon to hungry site-seers.
Near the southern tip of Vietnam, guests can tour Ho Chi Minh City. With a population of over 8.4 million people, this vibrant city is known for its shopping, nightlife, and bustling energy. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, from the local craft beer scene to the War Remnants Museum which recounts Vietnam’s military history.
While these cities may appeal to some travelers, those looking for a more natural escape will have a reason to visit Vietnam. Mui Ne is home to expansive sand dunes, with views of sunrises unlike anywhere on earth. Or your clients can explore the rivers, canals, and streams of the Mekong Delta. This rich agricultural area is the perfect spot to witness the expansive rice paddies, sweeping green landscapes, and one of the country’s famous floating markets.
Taste the Flavors
Many are surprised to learn that Vietnam has an incredible coffee culture. Coffee is traditionally made with drip filters. The strong, dark blend is served black or with condensed milk when ordered as a drink. Though if your clients want to try something new, they can sample ca phe trung: a coffee drink whipped with egg yolk. The city of Hanoi, in particular, is known for its cafes, some of which value the art of making coffee so highly that they sell only coffee, no other food or beverages.
Tasty food is never far away, though! Street vendors whip up local delicacies on busy corners as the world rushes by. Pho is the favorite dish among locals and travelers alike! Recently thrust onto the world’s food stage, pho originated as a street food in Vietnam in the early 1900s. Though the dish traditionally contains rice noodles in broth, recipes depart from there, and no two are the same. Travelers can also find Pork buns, spring rolls, stir-fries, and a variety of local specialties in every eatery from street-side food stalls to gourmet restaurants.
Navigating Vietnam
Vietnam has two main airports, one in Hanoi located in the northern part of the country and another in Ho Chi Minh City, in the southern part of the country. Once your clients have arrived in Vietnam, there are many methods of transportation they can use. Buses and trains are popular for tourists traveling from one location to the next, though more adventurous travelers can rent a motorbike.
Sailing can also be an option for those looking to take a short cruise as part of their journey. Cruises are especially popular in Ha Long Bay and give guests the opportunity to see the waters of the Emerald Sea and its rough limestone mountains up close.
However your clients choose to see this country, they are certain to come back with incredible memories and stories they will tell for years to come.
